Coral Springs Dental Implants

Coral Springs dental implants are replica teeth surgically adhered into the jaw to replace missing teeth - permanently.

That missing tooth may mess up an attractive smile, but filling the gap with an implant does more then just perfect a smile.  There are serious dental reasons to act.  If a missing tooth is not replaced, teeth located near the opening start to move.  Shifting teeth generate new locations for dental plaque and other tooth damaging particles, resulting in tooth decay or gum disease or, possibly, both.

Implant dentistry is a desired alternative for the replacement of missing teeth.  Implants do not rest on the gums dentures or utilize anchoring to adjacent teeth as dental bridges.  Dental implants are permanently affixed by placement into the jawbone acting as an anchors for the new teeth. The tooth implant has the look and feel of your own tooth, without any change in your ability to chew or speak.

The Dental Implant Procedure

Getting dental implants involves a three-step procedure of oral surgery performed by your dentist, or oral surgeon. In step one, the Coral Springs implant dentist drills a hole in the jaw and screws in place a titanium implant. Though sounding painful, most patients are sufficiently comforted with simple local anesthetics.  Sedation dentistry is available for appropriate patients.

In step two, the gum covering is placed atop the implant, to remain covered for sufficient time for the process of osseointegration to take place – the actual fusion of the implant to the bone.  Osseointegration is a three to six month process.  You may deal with some mild discomfort, as you would with any dental procedure, while the wound caused by insertion of the implant heals.

In the third step, the dental implant is uncovered and a post added. The post extends the implant and becomes the new foundation for the new tooth.  With the healing of the tissue around the post, the dentist affixes a dental crown on top.  Affixed to the post, your new tooth is secure, functioning as any normal tooth.

Even though the traditional dental implant effort usually takes a few months to complete, with several appointments, Coral Springs dental implant technology is rapidly evolving. One option result is a single visit dental implants. Ask you implant dentist or oral surgeon for more details.

Dental Implants: A Lasting Solution

Dental implants can be used to replace one or more teeth.  They are strong enough to serve as an anchor for a bridge or to hold in place dentures.  If you desire teeth replacement, implant-anchored dentures are great, giving greater stability than typical dentures but costing less than a full set of implants.

The dental implant process produces better results for healthier patients. Good dental health require appropriate oral hygiene, a good and balanced diet, with no smoking.  Implants require, obviously, a heathy jaw bone of adequate size.  Pre-existing health conditions should be discussed with your dentist to evaluate your candidacy for dental implants.

Long term, implants make more financial sense than other options available for missing teeth.  They are permanent and require no more maintenance than your other normal teeth.  Call or email us today for more information.  Coral Springs dental implants may be covered by your dental plan, but if not, credit plans may be available, and of course, we take most major credit cards.  We are anxious to work with you to you the dental implants you want.
